A plasma stand is a piece of furniture/equipment that holds a plasma TV. A plasma TV typically is not free standing and it needs to be secured to something to hold it up. In cases where it cannot be wall mounted a plasma stand may be the only option.

Entertainment Center

A plasma stand is the new entertainment center. A plasma stand usually has the same amenities as a conventional entertainment center. There are typically shelves on the stand and other storage space. A plasma stand sits on the floor and usually has arms that the plasma TV is secured to. A plasma stand typically does not take up much floor space and may offer several options to include, pivot abilities, tilting abilities and rotating abilities. Each option will raise the cost of the plasma stand.

Where to Buy

A plasma stand can be purchased most anywhere home electronics are sold. There will be several considerations when purchasing a plasma stand. The size and weight of the plasma TV that the stand will be used for should be the first consideration since a plasma stand is made to hold a specific amount of weight. A plasma TV can be very heavy it is important that the stand that is purchased can support the weight. Where the plasma stand will be placed in the room is also another consideration. There is a plasma stand that is designed to sit in the corner of the room the base is angled to fit nicely in a corner. A plasma stand can also be purchased in most furniture stores.

Cost

The cost of a plasma stand is completely reliant on the options that the plasma stand has. The options that are available can be one or all of available options. The amount of money that will be paid for a plasma stand also is relative to the manufacturer of the plasma stand and where it is purchased. There can be a decent plasma stand had for around two hundred dollars.

A plasma stand is an absolute necessity if there is a plasma TV to be purchased. A plasma stand is built specifically to hold plasma TV plasma TVs are very heavy and very thin they are typically not free standing. A plasma stand is similar to conventional entertainment centers; they have storage areas and can often hold other entertainment equipment.

Everyone has at least seen a plasma bracket. Five years ago no one actually had one, but they saw advertisements for flat panel televisions that were mounted to the wall with no stand. At the time they were considered to simply be a novelty, but today they are a very real need for TVs that have no way to support themselves.

Televisions that have no built-in stand or legs must be supported somehow. There are only two real options to this: a plasma bracket or a plasma stand. Both of these are readily available on the market today and are less inconvenient than you might expect. Installation for the brackets is easy, and many of the models that are available today are versatile and packed with installation safety features as well as display ones.

The first feature that today’s plasma bracket models are utilizing is a bubble level for easy installation. This negates the worry that you may put the bracket up with and find out later on that it is uneven and must be installed once more. This may seem small, but to the time and money-conscious homeowner it is a very big detail.

Safety locks are another feature that can put your mind at ease. These ensure that even with the TV safely held on the brackets via the pins, it will have a second line of defense from falling. This is very important for television models that are above 36 inches, as many are today. This also gives you some peace of mind, as long as you know that your TV is within the length and weight limits of the bracket that you choose.

As for options when it comes to viewing, there are three primary styles to choose from: stationary, tilting, and articulating. Those that are stationary do just as the name implies, but those that are tilting or articulating have some tricks up their sleeves. Tilting brackets allow you to tilt the television fro left to right, which is perfect for most families. Articulating models can extend from the wall and be adjusted from side to side or up and down, making them the most versatile and option-rich choice. These are generally the most expensive, but are as easy to install as the other options.

Cable management is also something to consider in a plasma bracket. Some of the cheapest models will simply let the cables hang down, but those that are a little more expensive have features that will hold the cables so that they go straight from the electrical socket to the television so that they do not hang. This is simply a cosmetic feature, but it can make the overall set up look more clean and organized.

Plasma and LCD televisions are the wave of the future, and the whole range of display options available to them can be daunting to first-time flat panel owners. The plasma bracket stands as one of the most popular display options today, and for good reason.

Today’s televisions are larger than ever. Just over a decade ago, 42 inch televisions were incredibly expensive and extremely uncommon. Today they are far more common and even affordable depending on the type of TV and the brand. 42 inch TV stands are made to display these televisions with ease, and for many they are the perfect display method.

A 42 inch TV stand needs to be able to hold a whole range of weights. Some of the larger televisions can be very light, while others are far more heavy. This depends on the age of the TV and the type that it is. For instance, most older DLP models will be far heavier than most flat panels, though this is not always the case. The weight can vary depending on whether it is a plasma, LCD, or simply on the casing. Knowing the maximum weight of a stand is essential to keeping you, your family, and your television safe.

42 inches is no small size, and as such the stands will be quite large, depending on the style. Those with arms going upward will likely not be so big length-wise because they do not need that extra space to hold the television, but models that hold the TV with small arms right on the stand or simply serve to hold it right on the table top. This makes them larger both length-wise and width-wise.

The material that 42 inch TV stands will greatly affect how useful it will be to you in the long run and the price that it is now. In general, the same rules apply that do with other types of furniture: wood is the most durable and expensive, steel is the middle point, and plywood is the most likely to break and the most affordable. The weight of your TV will play a huge part in the type of material that you should choose or that is even available to you. Big and heavy TVs are often not supported by flimsy material like plywood — making it impossible to actually display the TV on there for a long period of time. The maximum weight of any stand will let you know immediately whether or not you can use it for your television, so know the weight before you start shopping.

Shopping smart is a key component to getting the right stand for your television size and weight and to getting a low price on it. Comparison shopping is a must, otherwise you may end up paying too much for a less than stellar product. This can be said of almost anything, but as these stands are relatively new on the market there are inflated prices just about anywhere you go. 42 inch TV stands do not need to be expensive, and they do not need to take up a ton of space either. Really know the product before putting your money into any one model to know that you are making the right purchasing decision.

Today’s televisions are much different from the ones that were common ten years ago. With today’s newer styles that are flat and wide, there are new styles of television stands for them to be displayed upon. For some this is optional, but many require the use of a special type of stand with a mount for a television. Among one of the most popular styles are those that are tall. Tall TV stands give the homeowner a chance to have a theater-like experience without having to mount the television to the wall.

Both wall mounts and flat panel stands are popular today, each of which cater to different tastes. Wall mounts are popular because they are clutter-free and stylish, while stands are popular because they still provide the amount of storage that yesteryear’s entertainment centers provided.

Tall TV stands give the theater experience that wall mounts otherwise give, while still providing that storage that so many households need. Families with lots of movies or have video game consoles and the like hooked up to the television have a huge need for that extra space, especially if they find dozens of cords to be unsightly. Though tall TV stands hold the television up a few feet higher than the actual shelf in most cases, the necessary cords can often be run along the back of the arms.

When looking at any type of television stand, there are a few different materials to look at and consider. The one you choose will most likely be dictated by a combination of a few key factors: budget, material durability and longevity, and overall style.

Everyone wants to get a low price, no matter what they are buying, but sometimes the cheapest is not the best answer. This is very true when purchasing a piece of furniture, and even more true when purchasing a piece of furniture that will be holding a heavy television.

The actual arms are almost always steel, but the body of the stand can be made of plywood, wood, steel, or steel with a glass top. Plywood is the cheapest material and is made out of wood shavings, making it the most prone to breaking and the shortest lived. Those made of steel are not very attractive but have a decent life span, while those made out of steel with a glass top are far more stylish — though they often do not last all that long in homes with children. Wood is the material of choice for many because it is both extremely durable and easy on the eyes. The downside is that it is also the most expensive option.

Some homeowners are wary of having a stand that holds the television so high off of the ground. A quality model will be heavy enough at the bottom to safely maintain the weight of the television at a height. Tall TV stands are not for everyone either way, but they do make an attractive addition to most homes.

The contemporary TV stands available today are just as varied as the televisions they hold. Interior decorating has boomed with variety over the years, and these pieces of furniture are no exception to the ongoing changes in personal taste. Today’s TVs are shaped much differently than they were just a few years ago, and many need very particular types of stands in order to stay upright.

While it may seem a shaky design decision to the first time flat screen TV buyer, the television models that have no stand of their own built in to be placed on existing entertainment centers have a place: on a wall. These were developed to be mounted on the wall and displayed, but for many homeowners this is not all that great of an option: securing the mount takes time and leaves holes in the wall — and their movie players or video game consoles must be placed on something else to reach the television. These factors gave birth to today’s contemporary TV stands, many of which have arms that are much like wall mounting brackets.

Even the TVs that do have built in stands to be placed on entertainment centers or the like are often too long to fit onto entertainment centers or stands that were made for CRT televisions, which are more wide than anything else. Even those who have free-standing flat panels must consider getting a new stand, for both convenience and safety purposes.

The length of these newer television models can pose some problems on stands that are not meant to display them. For instance, if the sides of the TV extend past the sides of the stand there is a chance that it could be bumped into and knocked over. They are also often fairly heavy, depending on the model. Not picking a contemporary TV stand that has a maximum allowed weight that exceeds your television model’s weight is asking for an accident later on down the road.

The price for these new television stands can have a huge price range, depending on the exact style and the material that one is made of. Those that are more elaborately designed or have more shelves will be more expensive, as will those with arms to hold TV models that need support. The material price differences can be huge as well. Plywood, steel, steel with a glass top, and wood are the most common. They are listed from the least expensive to the most respectively. The material may also dictate which stands you can use, depending on their maximum allowed weight.

Years ago no one would have expected the new television technology, and as an extension they never would have expected the strange new contemporary TV stands that are available today either. Some of these stands may very well go against what was popular or acceptable in display furniture a decade or two ago, but they are very necessary with today’s plasma or LCD television models.
